Q: If I have applied to the Daily previously do I need to submit another application?
A: Yes. Even if you have applied in past semesters we need to receive a new application for each position you wish to be considered for.
Q: Are positions at the Minnesota Daily paid?
A: Yes. All positions apart from the Student Board of Directors Member (which is a volunteer position) are paid. However wages vary based on position and department.
Q: Do I need to be a University of Minnesota student to work at the Daily?
A: Yes. You must be a current University of Minnesota student enrolled in at least 6 undergraduate credits or 3 graduate level credits for the semester.
Q: Can I apply for more than one position?
A: Yes. You can apply for as many positions as you like, however we recommend focusing on those positions which you are strongly interested in.
Q: What is the difference between an intern position and other positions?
A: Interns at the Minnesota Daily have the same responsibilities and duties as reporters, but work less and required to file fewer stories.
Q: What happens after I submit an application?
A: You will be contacted within two weeks by the Daily to inform you if you have been selected for an interview.
